I approach web design a different way – with a step by step process catered to each individual client. Choose the starter package that best fits your needs and budget, do the rest yourself or opt to choose from one of the add on options available.
Choose Your Base Package. Depending on where you are with your business and your website, choose which option bests suits you. We’ll complete the base package and discuss what next step makes the most sense for you. Spend a few weeks with your new site; add content, make changes, and get to know the back end (the “Dashboard”). We’ll touch base 3 weeks later to discuss how things are going! Choose to do any remaining items on your own, purchase one or two months of web support to make customizations or get training, or skip right to joining the monthly tech program for ongoing web and business support. It’s all your call – you are in control!
All sites built using the WordPress publishing framework and existing themes. I prefer to work with the StudioPress Genesis Framework for the theme, but will work with most premium themes. Note: You are responsible for any licensing fees associated with premium themes. Most premium themes run between $30 – $100.

Step One: “Built It” Available Packages
Option One: Just the basics. $350
This blog site package includes just the WordPress application installation, database creation, theme upload and install, plugin install and then it’s handed back to you! This is great for: someone who does not want to deal with the back end set up of the website but is familiar with WordPress and will handle the header, sidebar, widgets, pages and menu themselves.

Getting Started: Since this is just the basics, we can skip formalities and get right to the business of setting up your site! First things first, send me more info about your project by filling out the website questionnaire. You won’t have to wait for an opening in my design schedule or chat with me about specifics (unless you want to). Once your questionnaire has been reviewed & accepted, you’ll be sent an invoice for the project via Freshbooks. Simply pay the $350 set up fee* and you will be sent your Get Started Guide with all the details needed to start the project.

Option 2: Branded basics. $600
This turnkey blog site package includes everything from the “just the basics” package PLUS brand customization (colors and graphics), homepage set up (content/widgets), header creation, menu set up, one full sidebar set up (content/widgets), and integration with social media. Simply add the remaining content on your own and you are ready to launch! This is for: someone who wants something up, like, yesterday – but is willing to take their time to get things just right. With this package, you can have a fully functional, launch worthy site up with a quickness and then spend the weeks and months following to tweak it to perfection. This is great for the person who likes immediate gratification but also lives on earth and understands that a good site takes time and patience.

Getting Started: First things first, send me more info about your project by filling out the website questionnaire. Once I have reviewed your questionnaire, we can discuss the project via email or schedule a 30 minute phone call. If all systems are go, to get on the design schedule you must first pay the $600 initial design fee* and you will be sent your Get Started Guide with all the details needed to start the project.

Step Two: “Explore It”
Over the years designing websites for coaches and consultants, I’ve found that the design process often hits a snag when the client is asked to make a million and one decisions right away, many that they don’t fully understand or know if they need! This step in the process is here to allow a bit of breathing room, and give the site owner time to get to know their site, look around, sleep on it… and make educated decisions on what extras they may want. This also provides a bit of time for the site owner to give their website a test drive! Many times my clients are surprised at how easy it is to maintain their own site and can manage many of the tasks themselves – saving them moolah.
After your initial site is set up, I invite clients to explore their new sites – both the live versions and the back end. Compare it to other sites you see, ask opinions of friends and colleagues. Spend some time in the back end (Dashboard) of the site trying out the different editing sections, adding widgets, adding plugins, and getting used to the control you now have with your own content management system.
After a few weeks, we’ll touch base and see if there are additional items you want help with, things you need customized, or training you need on certain aspects of the site. You can opt to purchase web support bundles (a great deal!), join my VIP tech program, or buy time by-the-hour.
Step Three: “Tailor It” Available Packages
The bells and whistles: Once the basics are set up on your site, you have the option to purchase up to 2 months of web support to make customizations and alterations to your new site, help complete aspects you don’t want to do, get live training on how to use your site, and more! Each web support bundle runs $250. Note: These bundles are only available for a limited time after your initial launch. You can also opt to join the tech services program for further customizations (with or without purchasing the web support bundles).
Each $250 Web Support Bundle includes:
- Four hours custom coding to use as you need.
- Four 30 minute calls, live chats or live webinars (one per week) for training, tutorials or coaching.
- Unlimited email support for 4 weeks.
Why did I do it this way? I’ve found in my years as a web designer that big kit-and-kaboodle packages are not right for everyone. Maybe you know your way around a computer and can handle most of the site stuff. Maybe you didn’t realize how easy it is to manage a WordPress site. Maybe you didn’t realize how many decisions went into a new website. Maybe you want to take things slow and not feel pressure to get everything done in just a few weeks. Maybe you… well, maybe you get the point.
This way, you can choose after the initial site is set up just how much additional help you want, based on your needs or your budget.
Step Four: “Nurture It”
Once your site is up and running, you may decide you want someone to maintain it, do the dirty work like backups and upgrades, or help you grow your business further with programs, products, social networking, newsletter… and so on and so on!
The VIP Tech Program is a monthly support system designed to provide you with a reliable contact for all your web biz needs. As a member of the monthly VIP program, you are receiving priority service for all your web needs. There is no contract required for this program and you can enroll at any time you want – as long as spots are available! Most technical, web related services are included in this program – like blog posts, plugin installation, sales pages, newsletters, auto responders, banner or ad creation, ebooks, and more!
